THE CRAZY
(1918)
You ask Me like I became crazy. This is what happened:
One day, long before you were born the gods, des
perté of a deep dream and discovered that
I had stolen all of my masks-if; the seven
masks that I had
made it, and that took seven lives different
-; I ran without mask for the crowded streets of
people, shouting:
- You thieves! It thieves! Damn the thieves!
Men and women laughed at me, and seeing me, varia
s people, full of dismay, they ran to
to take refuge in their homes.
And
when I got to the market square, a young man, of
standing on the roof of their
house, pointing at me yelled:
-Have a look! It is a crazy!
I raised my head to see who shouted, and for once, pr
imera the sun kissed my naked face, and my soul
swelled of love in the sun, and no longer wanted to have másc
sake. And as if it were prey of a trance, cried out:
- Blessed! Blessed are the thieves stealing from me
ron my masks!
So it was that I became a madman.
And in my madness I have found freedom and security;
freedom of loneliness and the security not to be
understood, because those who understand us enslave
a part of our being.
But do not let me make you proud too of my
security; even the thief
jail is safe from another thief.
